Last week, ASU basketball coach Bobby Hurley talked about the sense of urgency surrounding his Sun Devils basketball team as it plays its final few games of the college basketball regular season.
“We have tried to adopt that mindset now with every game, not because of what some guy’s bracket says but because of where we are in the season,” head coach Bobby Hurley said.
The Sun Devils (19-8, 10-5) conclude the regular season with three road games.
They need every win they can get in those games.
“We have to go on a streak,” ASU’s Zylan Cheatham said. “And you can’t do that if you don’t take care of business in the first one so that’s our focus and our mindset.”
The latest NCAA Tournament projections provide a bit of relief for the Sun Devils as the team is no longer projected to be in a First Four game.
What the latest NCAA Tournament projections are saying about ASU (and the Pac-12):
Shelby Mast and Scott Gleeson have ASU taking on No. 6 seed Virginia Tech in Tulsa in the first round.
They have Washington as the No. 7 seed in the West, the Pac-12’s only other team in the tournament.
