Breaking down the new 2021 Top-150 and SEC summer check in

Brian Snow joins Tani on the pod to continue the Summer Check In series on the pod. Today they discuss the wide open SEC. Lots of roster turnover and high level recruiting make the SEC hard to project and very fun to discuss. Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas headline, but many others are on their heels.
Then in part two, Jerry Meyer joins the show to break down the new top-150 for the class of 2021. With no new games to watch, the recruiting council dug into the tape, added a new five star to the fold, and highlighted some of their favorite players.
You can read Kevin Flaherty’s SEC Summer Check In along with all of 247Sports’ 2021 rankings release content on 247sports.com.

Then the guys dive deep into Kevin’s recent summer ACC check in, and discuss Duke and UNC’s elite recruiting classes, Florida State’s star recruit, some impact players on lower ranked teams, and whether or not Virginia’s offense will be able to catch up to its top ranked defense. Jerry Meyer and Evan Daniels share their favorite Peach Jam memories

Until Covid-19 canceled sports across the world, Nike’s Peach Jam championship was supposed to be later this month. Tani was bummed that he wasn’t going to be able to attend, so he got the next best thing. Evan Daniels and Jerry Meyer called in to share why they love Peach Jam, and why it’s such an important event.
Hear which guys went from nobody to 5-star, which. current NBA player goes to the tournament with his whole family, and more.

  6. Oklahoma State banned from 2021 Tourney + NCAA updates draft withdrawal deadline

Oklahoma State banned from 2021 Tourney + NCAA updates draft withdrawal deadline

The NBA draft is likely going to be October 15th, and the NCAA withdrawal deadline is August 3rd or 10 days after the NBA combine. Kevin Flaherty joins the Tani Levitt to discuss what does this mean for the prospects who still can return to college, is the August 3rd deadline fair to the players, and other draft/NCAA crossover topics.
Then, just as the show was wrapping up, the NCAA announced a series of punishments against Oklahoma State, including a postseason ban in the 2020-2021 season. With Cade Cunningham – the #1 prospect in the 247Sports composite 2020 ranking – set to enroll in Stillwater this fall, Kevin and Tani stay on the line to ponder the possibility that he might leave the NCAA for the G-League, what the NCAA can do to keep him in their system, and what it means that the #1 prospect hasn’t played in the NCAA tournament in three of the last six years.
